catching up: Christmas 2010
This past Christmas was a whirlwind of family activities! On Christmas Eve eve (yes the 23rd) I had about 20 family come to dinner and stay at our house en route to Tahoe. Then for Christmas Eve we headed to GP's (Nick's grandma's) for our traditional spaghetti dinner and exchanged presents with Nick's dad's side of the family. The next morning bright and early we loaded up the car and headed into Tahoe to meet up with the rest of my family. Then back in town we celebrated Christmas with Nick's mom ... whew -- that was a lot to pack in a few days!
Anyway, I didn't get too many pictures :( But Colson got a TON of presents -- as usual. Between Christmas and his birthday, we really don't buy him very much throughout the year!
Here he is playing with his new BBQ set and wearing a 49ers apron (courtesy of Aunt Lori Uncle Terry and the rest of the clan).

my big boy bed!!
Since we planned on using Colson's crib for his new baby sister -- we decided to transition him to a toddler bed. Well we did it a little sooner than planned ... for our Thanksgiving trip, I bought a peapod toddler travel bed. It looks like a tent and has an inflatable air matress inside. When we came back from Florida - he only wanted to sleep in that. So I ordered the toddler bed pronto and he has been in that since the beginning of December. Drawback: now he can get out of bed whenever he wants and come to our room (that is a whole other post in itself). But all in all the bed has been great for him :)

catching up: Thanksgiving 2010
The past few months have been busy: to say the least! So I will do a few catch-up posts before I get to our current updates -- and SLOANE!
We spent Thanksgiving week visiting Nick's aunt Ginger in Florida -- in a quaint little seaside town called New Smyrna Beach.
Nick, Colson and myself, plus Nick's mom Barbara, her boyfriend Dave and Nick's newphew Elliott. We rented a condo reight on the beach, a few minutes away from Ginger and Vandy's ... it was relaxing and we ate a ton! With no agenda -- just beach, pool, lounging and lot's of eating :)

Colson's School Thanksgiving
So cute -- Colson's class had a "Thanksgiving feast" a couple weeks ago :) We brought crescent dough pinwheels filled with turkey and cranberry ... the kids also feasted on sweet potatoes, fruit tarts, and Colson's favorite - corn on the cob:
